Port Aransas Beaches
Located 15 miles from North Padre Island is the city of Port Aransas Texas. The
beaches of Port Aransas are on Mustang Island in Nueces County. There are three
main beaches in Port Aransas. Starting at the northern most point of Mustang
Island is the
Port Aransas South Jetty. Moving along the beach to the south (toward North
Padre Island)is the Nueces County Beach called IB Magee Beach. Continuing South
takes beach visitors past Beach Access Road 1 then past Beach Access Road 2 some
11 miles later.
Port Aransas South Jetty
The beach along the South Jetty in Port Aransas is a great location to spend the
day. This beach is easily accessed and is a large beach with plenty of parking.
One of the great features of this Mustang Island beach is its location next to
the Corpus Christi Ship Channel. Sitting on the beach watching large ships,
offshore fishing boats, commercial shrimp boats and other marine watercraft go
by adds a little something to the day at the beach. Be sure to watch for the
dolphins in the ship channel.
IB Magee Beach
This Mustang Island beach is where Horace
Caldwell Fishing Pier is located. The beach here has restroom and shower facilities along with RV and
tent camping available. The beaches allow vehicle access part are also have a
partioned parking area that provides for pedestrian only portion of the beach up
to the waters edge. These beaches run along the lenght of the city of Port
Aransas past the Arnold Palmer] designed golf course out to the city limits of
Port Aransas.
