Whooping Cranes

Decided to take the hour drive over to the Aransas Wildlife Refuge this past weekend. Hoped to see the couple of Whooping Cranes that take up residence here during the winter. We caught a glimpse of the cranes through the leans atop the viewing tower. As you can see from the phot I included on this post, you need a lot of glass to get up close to the whoopers from the tower. Even with the ongoing South Texas drought and the distance between us and the cranes we still had a great time at the Refuge as always.
